About Beaune
Beaune is a 2017 bay Thoroughbred mare by Group 1-winning sire Kermadec out of San Cristobel. Her pedigree combines some of the most influential bloodlines in Australasian racing and breeding, including Teofilo, Galileo, Fastnet Rock and Danehill.
Selected for her pedigree, athletic type and broodmare potential, Beaune represents the quality and direction we are building at Stonelands Farm.
On 8 September 2026, Beaune welcomed a beautiful filly by Group 1-winning sprinter Sidestep, marking a very special milestone as the first foal bred by Stonelands Farm.
Both mare and filly are doing beautifully, and we look forward to watching this little girl grow and seeing where her journey takes her.

Born at Stonelands Farm on 8 September 2026 at 3:27 am
After keeping us waiting for 19 extra days, Beaune welcomed her beautiful filly in the early hours of a spring morning.
She arrived with a rich toffee-coloured foal coat, silvery legs, a dark mane and tail, a light-coloured muzzle and a distinctive black star-shaped marking on her forehead. Within hours, she was standing beside her mum and confidently testing out her long legs. Her first wobbly steps looked as though she had put on her dancing shoes, a fitting beginning for a daughter of Sidestep.
Her sire, Sidestep, was an exceptionally talented sprinter and winner of the Group 1 Golden Slipper. Her dam, Beaune, is a race-winning daughter of Group 1 winner Kermadec. This pairing brings together speed, athleticism and proven Australian racing bloodlines.
She is an alert, curious and affectionate little filly with a lovely presence and plenty of personality already beginning to show. Beaune has taken beautifully to motherhood, and both mare and foal are doing wonderfully.
We are incredibly proud to welcome this very special little girl as the first filly born at Stonelands Farm. We look forward to watching her grow, following every milestone and discovering what her future may hold.
